Oakhill Primary School

‘Working together for a brighter future’

As we are using the internet more each day, at Oakhill Primary School we are committed to the safe use of computer technologies whilst recognising the internet is a valuable tool.

We use the internet at home, school, on our mobile phones, and also when gaming. With the internet being used so much it is even more important that we know how to be safe online.

There are well publicised concerns regarding access to material on the internet that would be unsuitable for pupils. Whilst it is impossible to ensure that pupils will not access such material, the school is taking all reasonable steps to minimise a pupils access to unsuitable material by utilising a filtered internet service to prevent access to internet sites with undesirable contents.  We also endeavour to supervise all internet access during school hours.

Here are some Golden Rules that are important to follow when your child uses the Internet at home; please go through these with your child:  Golden Rules

In school pupils have internet rules to follow to help them stay safe and be responsible online.

At the bottom of this page you can find the Internet Safety Curriculum that our pupils follow. All year groups deliver these lessons in Autumn 1 of each year and repeat the activities as and when required throughout the remainder of the year.

Below are some websites that give you some information on how you can be safer online.
