Young Carers

At Oakhill we recognise and offer support to young carers in our school.

What is a young carer?

A young carer is someone under the age of 18 who looks after a family member or friend who may be ill, or have a physical or mental health condition.

What do young carers do?

Young carers might help with cooking, housework and shopping. They may help someone to wash and dress, or give medication. They may also look after their siblings.

For further information about young carers, please contact a member Mrs Keay or Mrs Hawthorne.
