Some children have needs which effect how they learn. Some children have disabilities which impact on their school experience. If you think your child may have Additional Needs then you can speak to the classteacher or to the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), Mrs Alliband.
Classteachers plan to provide an education designed to help children with additional needs progress well. This may involve extra work or 'interventions' to target an area of particular needduring the school day.
As a parent or carer, you can help your child by keeping informed of their progress by attending Parents Evening and by listening to them read at home and ensuring they do their homework. The classteacher may ask you to complete extra work at home . Those extra few minutes each evening can make an enormous difference to your child's progress. If you are not sure how to help then please speak to the classteacher.
